Creating Portfolio Posts

Metal offers several options for portfolio posts, and you can assign custom categories to each post. Each portfolio post offers several ways to add tags, categories and skills. See below for information on how to create portfolio posts.

  • Navigate to Portfolio in your Wordpres admin sidebar.
  • Click on the Add New option to make a new post.
  • Create a Title and insert your post content in the editing field.
  • If you want to Add Categories to assign it to the post, click on Add New Categories below to the Categories Tab.
  • Select the Category name which is listed in Categories tab in right side.
  • If you want to Add Tags, type the name of the tag in the field, separate multiple tags with commas.
  • To upload Feature Image for the Post, click the Set Featured Image option, select an image and click Set Featured Image button.
  • For a video post, select either Youtube or Vimeo from dropdown box.

Portfolio Options

  • To customize the portfolio, there are various options in Portfolio Options. Scroll down to see the Portfolio Options tab.
  • The Following list shows the Portfolio info options.
  • Custom Text - Enter the custom text for the portfolio post.
  • Portfolio Date - Enter the Portfolio Date.
  • Client Name - Enter the Client Name
  • Enable Social Share - You can Enable Social Share option by clicking the Checkbox.
  • The Following list shows the Portfolio Slider options.
  • Image Title - Enter the Image Title.
  • Image - Choose the portfolio image and upload.
  • Video Type - You can choose the video type such as Vimeo or Youtube.
  • Video ID - Enter the ID for choosed video type.

Portfolio Grid/Masonry

  • Extra Class - This option allow you to add Extra class.
  • CSS Animation - You can select animation for the Portfolio Grid such as Top to bottom, Bottom to top, Left to right, Right to left.
  • Posts per Page - Enter the number of Posts to show.
  • Show Pagination ? - Enable/disable the pagination for Portfolio.
  • Include Categories - Enter the slugs of a categories (comma seperated) to pull posts from or enter "all" to pull recent posts from all categories. Example: category-1, category-2.
  • Exclude Categories - Enter the slugs of a categories (comma seperated) to exclude. Example: category-1, category-2.
  • Portfolio Type - Select the portfolio type such as classic, masonry, etc.
  • Portfolio Columns - Select the column for the portfolio such as 2 column, 3 column or 4 column.
  • Items Spacing - Enter gap size between portfolio items. Only enter number Ex: 10.
  • Show Excerpt Content - You can enable or disable the excerpt options.
  • Excerpt Length - Enter the excerpt length.
  • Filters - The following shoes the portfolio filter options.
  • Portfolio Filters - This option allow you to enable the Portfolio Filter options.
  • Portfolio Filter Type - You can choose the portfolio type such as default one and Filter show with icons.
  • Portfolio Alignment - You can choose the alignment options for the filters.
  • Portfolio First Filter - Enter the slug of category (only one) to show elements from that category on page load. Enter “all” to show from all categories.
  • Overlay - You can select various overlay options.
  • Show Zoom Icons - Enable/Disable for Overlay Zoom Icon.
  • Show Link Icons - Enable/Disable for Overlay Link Icon.
  • Icons Animation - Enable/Disable for Overlay Icon Animations
  • Overlay Position - Choose Overlay Content Positions.

Portfolio Slider

  • General - The General setting for Portfolio Slider are following.
  • Extra Class - This option allow you to add Extra class.
  • CSS Animation - You can select animation for the Portfolio Slider such as Top to bottom, Bottom to top, Left to right, Right to left.
  • Include Categories - Enter the slugs of a categories (comma seperated) to pull posts from or enter "all" to pull recent posts from all categories. Example: category-1, category-2.
  • Exclude Categories - Enter the slugs of a categories (comma seperated) to exclude. Example: category-1, category-2.
  • Slider - The following options include the Slider settings.
  • Items to Display - This option allows you enter number of items to Display.
  • Items to Scrollby - This option allows you enter number of items to Scrollby.
  • Auto Play - This option allows you enable/disable autoplay option.
  • Timeout Duration - You can select Timeout Duration for slider.
  • Infinite Loop - You can set loop for slider.
  • Margin ( Items Spacing ) - You can add spacing between items.
  • Items To Display in Tablet - Enter Number of items to Display in Tablet.
  • Items To Display In Mobile Landscape - Enter Number of items to Display in Mobile Landscape.
  • Items To Display In Mobile Portrait - Enter Number of items to Display in Mobile Portrait.
  • Enable Navigation - You can enable/disable navigation for slider.
